Plaine Products – Refillable Bath & Body Products

Plastic waste is a huge problem in the world! A lot of us don’t think about this when it comes to products in the bathroom. Shampoo bottles, face and hair products – most likely they are all sold in plastic bottles. Most likely the majority of bathroom products aren’t being recycled either.  The average person probably doesn’t have a recycle bin in their bathroom and will be tossed into the trash. 

Plaine products is the ‘milkman’ of sustainable beauty.  It’s a reusable, refillable solution for everyday personal care products.  From hair, body, face and more. It’s refilled in an aluminum bottle that can stay in circulation over and over! Unlike plastic, aluminum is able to be completely recycled without any loss in quality at a fraction of the initial production costs and energy requirements. Plastic can only be recycled once or twice as it is downgraded each time it loops through the process. 

All of their products are natural and vegan as well. I have sensitive skin, which also tends to be oily and I really like how light all the lotions are. They don’t leave my skin feeling heavy and greasy like the lotion bars do.  My favorite hands down is the body lotion! 

However they recently just launched a new product that is a shampoo and body wash in one. I’m typically a shampoo bar lover, but when I have guests over I like to give them some other choices for shampoo. This is the perfect solution! 

(Unfortunately as of spring 2023, the hand sanitizer has been discontinued. I hope they may reconsider bringing to back in the future!) I know I said the body lotion was my favorite but the hand sanitizer might just come in to close to second. I really like that it’s a spray and not liquid like the typical hand sanitizers. Being a spray it allows it to dry faster on your hands. Plus you can use it to disinfect surfaces or keep your glasses germ free! I keep the big bottle at home and I refill smaller bottles when I’m on the go. One is always in my car and my purse at all times.
